PET (Polyethylene terephthalate)
- Polyethylene-terephthalate (PET) and recycled PET bristles are widely used by the brush and broom industry due to high heat resistance and excellent mechanical properties. Recycled PET is also a good substitute to PVC made with virgin materials.
Chemical resistance (at 20 °C)
- To diluted acids, alcohol, organic solvents, alkalis (less so) and solid acids (less so).

Polypropylene
- Widely available rigid polypropylene (PP) fibres have low density and, therefore, score high on yield and cost compared with other filaments. PP does not incept moisture, pollution and smells. Its rigidity is excellent even if wet and is neutral to most dissolvents, oils, acids and chemical agents.

PS (Polystyrene)
- PS monofilaments have high rigidity, surface hardness and resistant to acid and alkali. It’s ideally used in car wash brushes, industrial brushes and for Christmas tree decorations.

PBT (Polybutylene-terephtalate)
- It is softer and has somewhat of a lower strength and stiffness than PET with good friction properties and abrasion resistance. Furthermore, it is weatherproof and has good stress corrosion resistance.
